Humanitarian Principles
An introduction to the four humanitarian principles and Do no harm, It presents and discusses how the principles of Humanity, Impartiality, Independence and Neutrality must be integrated into organizational decision making within the humanitarian context.

Boundaries/Do no harm
This is an interactive session and requires the team to work on their internal understanding of boundaries and how different mechanisms exist to support them and their empowerment as aid workers in challenging environments. The session uses role play and situational examples to present the concepts.

Racism and Humanitarian Aid
This session creates a platform where the participants are encouraged to reflect on how Racism and understanding of identity are very relevant aspects of humanitarian work. It discusses how the humanitarian principles must be integrated into our everyday lives to ensure the neutrality of our work.

Privilege and Humanitarian Aid
This session encourages the participants to reflect on the meaning of privilege in society. The session includes reflective activities, meditative practice and discusses how privilege can be used in in humanitarian aid to support and advocate for the vulnerable populations.

Voluntourism
This session discusses motivational drivers behind volunteering and humanitarian aid and how we as humanitarian aid workers must understand the cultural parameters and influences that have put us in this position. Within our sector internationally we must be aware of the history and politics that have allowed the western hemisphere to take a lead within humanitarian aid and how geopolitically we must be self-reflective and understand privilege and power imbalances.

Vicarious trauma and Empathy fatigue
This session discussed the signs, symptoms and causes of vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue , it introduces the Pandora Tool box which is a series of personal tools and self-practices to encourage self-awareness, understanding of mental health and the repercussions of engaging in humanitarian aid work. It is an interactive session.
